We were having a Blood Sweat and Tears chat on the NRBQ e-list and guitarist Larry DeBari's name came up; brother Dan and I saw Larry with B S & T in Waterville in 1992. Sadly, he died 7 years later of brain cancer. An all-star benefit in January of that year included performances by Southside Johnny...and B S & T founder Al Kooper!
Here are a couple of videos of him at work with the band.

"Go Down Gamblin' " at the North Sea Jazz Festival in 1993. Ironically, David Clayton-Thomas played sizzling lead guitar on the original recording of this song back in 1972

Another bit of B, S & T trivia was unearthed in our discussion that I was unaware of-in 1975-76, B, S & T's bass player was non other than Jaco Pastorious! Jaco had become buds with drummer Bobby Colomby, and Bobby in fact produced Jaco's brilliant debut solo album.
