Frost Heaves 101

Here's a nice example of a frost heave. As noted in a previous post, these are regular visitors to many New Hampshire roads this time of year. This one is located on NH Route 132 about 1/10 of a mile south of the Sanbornton "village" of Gaza, better known as the earthquake center of the state. Gaza is about 4 miles south as the crow flies from Saddle Hill.
