Pousette-Dart Band Sighting

One of the treasures of the e-mail list dedicated to the best little rock and roll band on the planet, NRBQ, is a guy who calls himself "jim chap", who is based in the Hartford CT area. In fact, he's a neighbor of one of Gene Pitney's sons.

"chap", aka Jim Chapdelaine, runs his own studio and also does music gigs on the side as a very talented guitarist-he was playing in NYC one night and a member of the audience was so taken by his picking that he gave him one of his own guitars as a present. Said audience member's name was Les Paul.

chap for the past decade has gigged regularly with fellow Nutmeg Stater and former NRBQ guitar god Big Al Anderson, including Al's annual January gigs on Delbert McClinton's Blues Cruises.

As I mentioned in my liner notes for CD-1 of "Christmas in Seufland 2007", chap has promised to try and find out the real story about the tune I used by "Jerry and the Landslides". He's already asked Big Al, who had apparently never heard of it, but thinks he might know someone who can solve the mystery-stay tuned.

But jim also has another musical gig, which he updated us about last night:

" March 16th the Pousette Dart Band returns to the Iron Horse and April 4th, we'll be at The Turning Point.

while we will be at both venues to primarily wash dishes, we will play music as well.

cheers, jim chap............... "
