Waimanalo Blues

Most Oahu visitors don't know the town of Waimanalo by name, but it's the home of Sea Life Park, the musical Pahinui clan, and is where the "Robin's Nest" compound was located on the tv show "Magnum, PI". It's remained remarkably unchanged over the years.

It's also the home to much of the island's veggie industry, and they are going thru a hard time due to a lack of water:

"Lower-than-normal rainfall levels are affecting about 90 Waimanalo farmers and have fire officials on alert as summer brush-fire season approaches.

The state Department of Agriculture announced mandatory 20 percent water restrictions this month at the Waimanalo reservoir, which was at about one-third of its 60 million-gallon capacity last week."
