When It (Doesn't) Rain, It Pours Dept.

... Red flag warning in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening... The National Weather Service in Gray ME has issued a red flag warning... which is in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

Gusty northwest winds... around 25 mph at times... and very dry air... with relative humidity values of 20-25 percent... will combine to produce hazardous fire conditions today.

Any rain that fell overnight across southern New Hampshire... or the coastal plain of Maine... was very light... and will have little or no effect on the dryness of the fine fuels on the ground.

A red flag warning means that a combination of strong winds and dry conditions is occurring now... or will occur soon. These critical fire weather conditions may result in dangerous fire behavior.
