I mentioned Weather Report bassist Jaco Pastorious yesterday...after 22 years missing in outer space, his bass guitar, fondly known as the "Bass of Doom", has "mysteriously" reappeared in New York.
Mysteriously enough, the Weather Report album "Mysterious Traveler" was done with the bassist who immediately preceded Jaco, Alphonso Johnson.
