"Holy Epidemic, Batman!"

Sad news-an epidemic is killing off bats throughout New England and New York State. It's called "white nose syndrome" and has been spotted in NY, Massachusetts, Vermont, and most recently Connecticut. No word as to whether NH has any cases.

Interesting sidelight-this story is by Hartford Courant Staff Writer Rinker Buck. Rink wrote a great book about 10 years ago called "Flight of Passage", which chronicled the coast to coast flight he and his brother Kern took as teenagers in 1966 in a Piper Cub. It's a great read! You can find it for sale from the usual suspects.
