I caught the entire show on fuse tv, and except for Run-DMC and Metallica it was better than the typical R & R HOF show. A lot of that had to do with the fact that the venue was moved to Cleveland, at the Public Auditorium, and for the first time the general public was allowed entry.
And the inductees' quality was pretty good, too-Jeff Beck, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Wanda Jackson, Bobby Womack, Spooner Oldham, and the Sun Rhythm Section of bassist Bill Black and drummer D.J. Fontana.
Only disappointment: Beck was inducted this time for his solo work (he had previously been inducted as a Yardbird) but for some reason he did not play any of his classic "Blow by Blow" or "Wired" material. For shame, Jeff!
Click the post title for a review that's heavy on the Metallica angle; I am trying to find a better story and will change the link later.
