That was a memorable passage from an old 3 Stooges short, "No Census, No Feeling", where Census Taker Moe doesn't realize he is interviewing fellow Census-taker Curley, who is passing himself off as a chef. Moe than asks Curley how to spell "Winnipesaukee", at which point Curley changes it to Lake Erie.
