Hawai'i Real Estate Bargain

Recently listed on the east side of O'ahu: the Kaiser Estate. This was the home of ship-builder Henry Kaiser, who started the Hawai'i Kai development in the 1950s and also built the Hawaiian Village Hotel in Waikiki, which was unusual at the time for having a geodesic dome. Henry was also the grandfather of musician Henry Kaiser.

When my family lived in Kailua in the 1960s we would drive by the Kaiser Estate when taking the long way home from Honolulu. In those days Henry had all of its buildings painted pink.

Asking price? $80 million. Click post title for a tour.
