Dick Picks On Rick

The second TV show Bob Newhart did (the one set in Vermont) had a classic episode where his character "Dick Loudon" got to play second banana on a late night teeve show called "Vermont Tonight".

The host was played by Dick, er, Bob's lifelong best friend Don Rickles. Don of course promptly turned Bob into his stooge, and it got so bad that he had a nightly segment of the show called "Pick On Dick".

The show had a surprise ending, which you will have to wait to see when the DVD comes out.

BTW most folks don't know that many of the opening credit shots for that "Vermont" Newhart show were in fact filmed right here in NH.
