Delaney worked with Eric Clapton and George Harrison. He was best-known for writing Clapton's classic "Rain", and with Leon Russell co-wrote "Superstar", which became a huge hit for The Carpenters.
He and his wife Bonnie also toured with Clapper as "Delaney and Bonnie and Friends".
