Flying History

It hasn't been updated in a long while, but the State of Hawaii runs an interesting site called "Hawaii Aviation", dedicated to the history of flight in the islands.

It's full of great photos, and great stories, including the epic flights in the late 1920s and early 1930s by Australia's Sir Charles Kingsford-Smith, who would later have Sydney's airport named after him. His first flight to Hawaii was the first time a plane had flown from California over the Pacific to Australia, with several stops (first one Hawaii) on the way. The first leg, from Oakland to Wheeler Field on Oahu, took 27 hours! "Smithy" would be lost at sea several years later off India...
