An elderly visitor drowned the other day near Tunnels, and yesterday another elderly gentleman got caught in a rip current at Molo'a Bay, best known as the filming location for the pilot episode of "Gilligan's Island". He's in critical condition.

After being weaned on Boston AM radio in the late 1950s, I "got religion" when our family moved to Hawai'i in 1963 and I first heard Ron Jacobs, Tom Moffatt and the rest of the "Poi Boys" on K-POI Radio, which was on 18 hours a day in our house until we moved to NY City in 1966...Of course, then it was 77 WABC, and within 3 years I was working in Top 40 radio myself, at the high school and college levels...Soon after that, I attended my first live concert, and it was all over...my ears have been bleeding ever since!
