I had these views of the privately-owned island of Niihau on back to back days in May, 2003. As the top picture was taken, we were on our way up into Kokee, but were forced to turn back due to rain (the Kokee region includes Mt. Waialeale, which gets over 500 inches of rain a year).The second picture was taken early the next day. Usually Niihau doesn't show up like this at 8 AM, as it's frequently in fog.
