A 16 year old kid in California solos a Cessna 172 on his 16th birthday.

He still has a ways to go to beat Kernahan Buck, who soloed 4 separate planes four loops each on his 16th birthday in the 1960s. The following year he and his brother flew a Piper Cub coast to coast, later immortalized in the book "Flight of Passage".
