Fiddlin' Around

I spotted these fern fiddles on (fittingly) Fiddler's Choice Road in Merrimack County.

Some varieties of this fern are a great delicacy here-but they have to be boiled for at least 10 minutes (or steamed for 20 minutes) to get rid of the natural bitter taste.
