Final snapshot, this time from Center Sandwich village...sharp-eyed TV fans will immediately recognize this view as coming from the opening title sequence of "Newhart" (the Vermont inkeeper show that was all a dream). Said show is slowly coming out on DVD, but it will be milked for all it's worth before the epic finale comes out.Even though "The Stratford Inn" was in Vermont, several of the camera shots in the opening sequence were in fact filmed in Sandwich and neighboring Holderness.
"Dick" and "Joanna" drove by this intersection in one of those opening shots. Bear left as they did to get on Skinner Street, or turn right for Mead Base and Sandwich Notch.
